How this calculator works

Print-on-demand pricing looks simple until fees, ad spend, discounts, and taxes all take a bite out of the same sale. This calculator adds every one of those costs back in, so the profit number you see is the one that actually reaches your account — not just the difference between selling price and base cost.

Pick a marketplace preset to auto-fill typical fee structures for Etsy, Shopify, Amazon Merch, Redbubble, Gelato, Printify, or Printful, then adjust anything specific to your account. Every field updates your results instantly, including a full comparison of nearby price points and the exact prices you'd need to hit common margin targets.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate are the marketplace fee presets?

They're estimates based on publicly published fee structures at the time noted under each preset. Marketplaces change fees often, so always confirm current rates on the marketplace's own fee page before finalizing pricing.

What counts as "base cost" for a print-on-demand product?

Whatever your production partner charges you to make and, if applicable, ship the blank or finished item to you — the Gelato, Printify, or Printful production cost, for example, before your marketplace's fees are applied.

Why does the calculator separate "profit after ads" from net profit?

Net profit already factors in advertising cost, but sellers often want to see the two numbers side by side to judge whether a product is only profitable when it's not being advertised.

How is break-even price calculated?

It's the selling price at which gross revenue exactly equals total costs — product cost, shipping, marketplace fees, advertising, discounts, and taxes — given your current inputs.

Can I use this for Amazon Merch or Redbubble, where I don't set every fee directly?

Yes — select the preset for a rough starting point, then switch to the Custom Marketplace option and enter your actual royalty or margin structure for a precise result, since those platforms work differently from a flat transaction-fee model.
